A FRESH VISION FOR CALEDON

Over the past few years, in meetings with individuals and groups all over Caledon, Ian has heard concerns about a lack of transparency, consistency, and citizen involvement in the policies and priorities of the Town. The vision we all share, outlined below, is the result of these discussions – they describe the Caledon we want for today, for our children, and future residents ….

It’s Time … for Caledon to become the place where:

* Our beautiful natural heritage and the character of our towns, villages, hamlets and rural areas will be protected and enhanced

* Children will be safe and free to experience the natural world at their doorstep

* Development will be well and carefully planned, with full citizen participation so we don't become just another urban/industrial sprawl

* Employers will locate here because they share our vision, and our municipal government makes their families and their businesses feel welcome

* Citizens will trust their elected representatives and won't need to worry about what is being done behind closed doors

* A united council will work with the province and ensure the province is working for us

* Our official plan will reflect this vision and will be respected by governments at all levels, building a Caledon that is recognized as a leading example among progressive municipalities
